In eerste instantie moet je je piano op een goede plek neerzetten. Dit houdt in dat het een plekje moet zijn waar het niet ineens heel heet wordt door de zon, maar waar het ook niet ineens heel erg koud is. Een piano is gemaakt van hout en met warmte en kou zal het hout ineens gaan uitzetten of krimpen. Als je je piano goed onderhoudt en dus alleen maar één of twee keer hoeft te laten stemmen zal dit niet onwijs duur zijn. Wanneer de piano gerepareerd moet worden omdat het nieuwe onderdelen nodig heeft, zal dit wel wat meer geld gaan kosten. Denk er dus goed over na of je een goede plek in je huis hebt voor een piano als je het wilt leren spelen.
