Hard water wordt ‘hard’ genoemd vanwege het hoge gehalte kalk, calcium en magnesium wat in het water zit. Hard water heeft niet zo’n groot effect op het lichaam in kleine hoeveelheden. We hebben het juist nodig om te kunnen overleven. Maar hard water wordt pas echt nadeliger als het gezuiverd is tot leidingwater. Dan kan er kalkaanslag ontstaan op jouw kraan, douchekop, of tegels en op verschillende apparaten die water gebruiken. Wordt de kalkaanslag te veel, dan kunnen er gevolgen ontstaan voor je gezondheid. Het is dus verstandig om een waterontharder te kopen bij Soft Water Systems. Er kunnen ook kleine vlekjes op je huid komen als je zacht water gebruikt. Alle Nederlandse waterbedrijven moeten van de overheid voldoen aan de eis van 5,6 dH, tenzij het water van nature al zacht is.
